About the Recipe

This tarragon chicken recipe is a simple yet sophisticated dish that will definitely make an impression. The combination of fresh tarragon and white wine brings a delightful twist to the meal. With its warm and comforting flavors, this tarragon chicken is bound to become a beloved family favorite.

Ingredients

2 chicken breast

1 tablespoon fresh tarragon, chopped (plus additional for garnish)

1 garlic clove, chopped

1/4 cup shallots, chopped

1/2 cup dry white wine

1/2 chicken broth

1/3 cup heavy cream

Salt & Pepper to taste


Preparation

  1. Season chicken breast with salt and pepper on both sides.

  2. In a skillet brown chicken breast on both sides at medium high heat. *If your chicken breast are large split down the center if needed.

  3. When browned remove from the skillet. Do not worry if chicken is not cooked all the way through, they will finish cooking later.

  4. To the same skillet add your shallots, sprinkle with a little salt and cook until tender

  5. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds

  6. Next, add in your wine and cook until the wine reduces down

  7. Add chicken broth and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes on medium high heat.


  8. Mix in tarragon, then heavy cream and simmer for 1 to 2 minutes. At this point taste to see if you need additional salt.

  9. Return your chicken back to the skillet, cover and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, until sauce thickens and becomes creamy.

  10. Serve hot over mashed potatoes or rice. Use additional chopped tarragon for garnish.
