About the Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter

  • 1 1/2 cups finely chopped onion

  • 3 cups finely chopped celery

  • 2 batches cornbread, crumbled

  • 4 cups bread crumbs (toasted dry)

  • 3-4 cups chicken broth (or turkey)

  • 1 tablespoon dried sage

  • 2 tablespoons poultry seasoning

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

  • 3 eggs beaten (optional)

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

2. Saute the onion and celery in the butter over medium-high heat until tender.

3. In a large bowl combine the sauteed vegetables with the cornbread, bread crumbs, sage, poultry seasoning, thyme, broth, and eggs.

4. Pour evenly in a baking dish.

5. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes
